Dundas Hut
Tararua FP ● 12 – 14 March 2021
My first WTMC trip, and a good one at that. Headed in to Herepai on Friday night (I need to get a better torch), then over Cattle Ridge to Dundas Hut on Saturday. All topped off with a beautiful clear day on the tops. What more can you ask for?

Shortly before Cattle Ridge Hut I managed to find the only spot of mud on the whole trip. It was deep.
An incredibly flat-bottomed cloud
Heading down into the Ruamahanga River. It's always a bit depressing losing all the elevation you have just gained.
... and then having to gain it all again.
The cloud cleared enough for a nice view over the Wairapa at sunset
