Baldy

Tararua FP ● 14 August 2022

Reminiscent of U Pass, this was a day trip which involved carrying full overnight packs the whole way. We had intended to make it to McGregor Biv, but realised we wouldn't have time to make it over the broken axe pinnacles. It was an absolute bluebird day, so we sat down to enjoy the views and snow, then headed back to the car, only needing torches for the last half an hour.

• The bushline → Baldy (45 mins)
