Egmont NP ● 15 – 16 October 2022
On a roll having visited the summit plateau of Ruapehu last week, it seemed fitting to visit the North Island’s other mountain. We started early and reached Syme Hut before lunch, but didn’t make it to the top due to the steep, slippery terrain. This allowed us to spend a pretty chill afternoon self arresting, stretching, sleeping, and staring at pretty views. On Sunday morning a smaller gang managed to reach the crater and get views of the summit.
