A tarn near Haast Pass
Mount Aspiring NP ● 1 – 3 January 2023
A chill trip up to a tarn just above the bushline on the westward side of Haast Pass, with views across the valley to a crowded Brewster Hut. We set up camp for a couple of nights and went for a day trip up Mt Cross and East Peak.

The tarn
The largest tarn is marked on the topo50 map, although there are a couple of smaller ones a little further down the ridge which we came across first.
